Sep 11-12,2017 – Grandpa Urban Farm, Bangkok, Thailand was invited to present paper on topic of ” Innovation for Organic Urban Farming for Food Security in Climate Change Situation” and to share experiences in doing urban farm in the International Urban Farming Conference 2017 during 11-12 September 2017 in Berlin, Germany. The Conference was organized by GRUNE LIGA Berlin which is an environmental non-profit organization. The conference venue was Heinrich-Boll Stiftung in Berlin.
The conference aims to highlight the important of urban agriculture for sustainable urban development as well as for food security and climate protection by providing a platform for international organization from the Global South and the Global North to showcase their urban agriculture projects. The Conference included a number of lectures, panel dicussions,workshops and excursions.
There were nearly 200 participants from 30 countries.
There were 60 speakers from different countries who work on urban farming such as Ethiopia, Syria/Lebanon, USA, Mexico,Columbia, Kenya, Canada, French, Morocco, Iran, Ecuador, Gaza, Egypt, Bolivia, Jordan,Hungary, South Africa, Cuba, England, Argentina, Brazil, Bangladesh,Bulgaria, Italy, Malawi, Chile,Mosambik, Thailand and Germany.
Mr.Komson Hutapaed, a representative of the Grandpa Urban Farm and the Media Center for Development, Bangkok, Thailand had a good opportunity to present ideas and share experiences in one of panel discussions on topic of “Role, Potentials and Boundaries or Urban Farming in Countries affected by instability and conflict”.
